Privacy Trail is a tool for discovering privacy-respecting alternatives to mainstream technology. I believe in minimising data collection. I do not sell your data or use it for advertising purposes.

When you browse or search for alternative tools and services on Privacy Trail, your activity stays in your browser. I do not log which alternatives you view, track the choices you make, or associate your browsing with any identity.

I use a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool (Umami) to help me understand how visitors use this app and improve its features. This tool works as follows:

• It uses a small JavaScript snippet - no cookies are set
• All data collected is fully anonymised and aggregated
• It does not track individual users or build user profiles
• It does not use third-party advertising or tracking technologies
• Because no cookies are used, no cookie consent banner is required

The data collected includes general metrics such as page views, approximate geographic region (country/city level), browser type, and referral source. None of this information can be used to identify you personally.

Privacy Trail links to third-party tools and services as alternatives. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. I encourage you to review their privacy policies before signing up or sharing any personal information.

The tools and services listed on Privacy Trail are curated for informational purposes. I aim to keep listings accurate and up-to-date, but I make no guarantees about the current privacy practices of any third-party service. Always do your own research before switching to a new tool.

Privacy Trail is hosted by a third-party service provider. As a normal part of serving web traffic, my host may log technical information such as IP addresses and browser types - this is outside my control. I do not collect or access these logs myself, and I choose hosting providers that respect user privacy and meet modern data protection standards.

Since I do not collect personal data, there is no personal information to access, correct, or delete. However, you have the right to:

• Use this app without being tracked
• Block JavaScript or use a content blocker to opt out of analytics
• Contact me with any privacy concerns

Privacy Trail is designed for general audiences. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. My no-tracking approach means I don't collect identifying information from any visitor.
